Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept so our team can respond. We do not disclose the message outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical details:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device type and operating system
- The referring site, when available
- Browser type and version
- Time spent on pages
- The device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including popular pages and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route search requests to the selected partner
- Find and correct technical faults
- Maintain performance and availability
- Measure which content is useful
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material identifies request routes for Malheur County courts, the sheriff, Oregon State Police CJIS, and Oregon Sex Offender Online Search. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal record files, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to those tools. Review the chosen provider's policy before running a query because we do not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Oregon agencies, Malheur County offices, courts, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising firms may use their own systems to track activity across sites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such data is identified, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Oregon consumer-protection law, including ORS 646.605 through 646.656, may provide rights based on the circumstances and place of residence. The Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478, governs public bodies rather than this private site. You may:
- Request deletion of your data
- Ask what information is held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate data
- Opt out of certain processing when applicable
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any new version will appear here with its effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
